"Dance of the Dead"

I'm going to take a not so bold stance and say that this movie looks absolutely awful. You can quote me on that. It looks cliché, low brow and totally unoriginal. I still plan on seeing it. I love teen prom based cinema ie: "You Drive Me Crazy" and god awful zombie regurgitation ie: "Day of the Dead 2008".

Wes Craven and his New Nightmare

This isn't a review. I simply love "Wes Craven's New Nightmare". I watched it over the weekend and it sparked my passion once again.

I'm just going to assume most everyone is familiar with this film. If not visit the imdb . It is by far my favorite of all the "Nightmare on Elm St.'s". Why? I'll tell you.

Monster-Mania 11

I know many BGHers are, much like I, in the New York City area. The end of August brings the eleventh installment of Monster-Mania.

Anyone else going? I've been to a handful of MM cons and I find them to be good times. The guest list doesn't do much for me this time out. I have a huge crush on Robert Englund, so that's always a welcome face to see. I love me a good horror con, so the "special guests" are often secondary.

The Inevitable Preview Trailer Let Down

I think it's safe to say that most of us here like to be "in the know", so to speak. We enjoy being ahead of the curve. I personally love being ahead of the curve. We seek out trailers and teaser posters and casting revelations. This weekend it really hit me. The magic has been sucked out of the preview trailers.

San Diego Comic Con

I'm going to cut right to the chase, I am so pissed I'm not at Comic Con.

Being that I am firmly planted on the East coast, there was never a chance in Hell that'd I'd be able to attend. I've found myself mumbling bitterly every time I've come across anything Con related. On this, the opening day, I am teeming with negative Comic Con 08 jealousy. And it is freakin everywhere!!

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

I don't know how many of you will actually be interested in this. As a gigantic Joss Whedon fangirl I deem it to be the most amazing thing ever. But that's the thing about fangirls/boys, they squeal with delight in the most biased of ways.

Fear Itself 6 Review - New Years Day

Last Thursday brought us the 6th installment of "Fear Itself". This was Darren Lynn Bousman's attempt at the series. Boy oh boy do I have mixed emotions.

Batgirl & "The Dark Knight"

Oh how the rumors are flying! As "The Dark Knight" draws closer, little bits and pieces of info keep popping up. Most of them I have absorbed with an air of quiet disinterest. Sure, I totally want to see this movie. I'm super excited about it. But trailers and posters and stills (oh my!) don't really do it for me. This does.

"Twilight" & How I Will Never Understand It

Everywhere I turn there is a new "Twilight" poster or clip or trailer or magazine cover. I find myself asking "wtf is twilight"?

Guillermo del Toro's top 5 ghost movies

Even though this whole list is a shameless ploy to plug "The Orphanage", it's still a pretty tight grouping. I also have no qualms with plugging "The Orphanage". That was a great movie and I will fight anyone who disagrees.

1. The Uninvited (1944)
2. Kuroneko (1968)/ Onibaba (1964)
3. The Haunting (1963)
4. The Innocents (1961)
5. The Changeling (1979)
