Cinemorgue Catalogue's Onscreen Deaths

"From time to time, I've noticed a couple of questions that come up in movie trivia discussions: 'Has so-and-so ever gotten killed in any movies?' and 'What's that movie where what'sisname kills such-and-such?'"

100 Best Kill Party

Austin Texas can be summed up by it's motto “Keep Austin Weird” and because of this motto it is no surprise that September 24th-October 1st “Fantastic Fest” is held in Austin. With the many film screenings and events arriving in Austin ranging from apocalyptic to science fiction, the “100 Best Kills Party” stuck out most in my mind. Did you see the skull crush brought on by NPH in the trailer from 2008?

Trailer For Peter Jackson's "The Lovely Bones"

Two days ago, on 'the twitter', I was tweetin' about how there were no movies I was looking forward to seeing. Today (well, and admittedly yesterday: "Zombieland"), I found a movie that made my vagina, grow a boner.

Redband "Zombieland" Trailer

I think I have found my most anticipated film of the year and it has a lot to do with Woody Harrelson, a wiley cowboy type with a chainsaw, the backup cast that sports that awkward kid from "Adventureland", and two kickass bitches with hearts of gold, one of which you will recognize from "Little Miss Sunshine".

David Lynch Directs Video For Moby

David Lynch and Moby are good friends. They share an interest in transcendental meditation, weird sounds, and isolated factories. So, when Moby needed a music video he asked Lynch, who took a literal approach to the single “Shot in the Back of the Head” from Moby's new album “Wait for Me.”

Sense and Sensibility and Sea monsters Trailer?

Has anyone read "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"? Well, for rabid fans, or lovers of all things aquatic, there is now a followup, “Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters”:

“Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters expands the original text of the beloved Jane Austen novel with all-new scenes of giant lobsters, rampaging octopi, two-headed sea serpents, and other biological monstrosities. As our story opens, the Dashwood sisters are evicted from their childhood home and sent to live on a mysterious island full of savage creatures and dark secrets.

"Rotten" Short Film

Armin Miewes, one of the more notorious cannibals from Germany (who recently became a vegetarian, good to know) has been the inspiration for quite a few recent forms of media. There was a 2006 film that was banned in Germany, “Butterfly: A Grimm Love Story,” but released in America starring Keri Russell. Also, the ever entertaining dance-metal group Rammstein recorded a song and music video called “Mein Teil.” One of our readers Andrew has also been inspired by the case and made a nifty short film entitled “Rotten” which has been getting attention within the industry.

Roadshow Screenings of "DeadGirl" This Weekend

This Friday and Saturday there will be Midnight Roadshow screenings of “DeadGirl” in Seattle, Chicago, LA, St. Louis, New York, Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Also, director Marcel Sarmiento will be in Austin for a Q&A on the 24th and in Dallas on the 25th so if you live nearby it would be a perfect opportunity to get up close and personal. For ticket purchase and details, visit the film's official site.

Horror Shorts From the Youtube Screening Room

The Youtube Screening Room usually contains some pretty neat stuff, but this week, thanks to the vaguely anticipated horror movie, "Orphan", they are showing 4 horror/suspense films.

"Spider" is relationship based horror short with a nice twist ending. It made me clap outloud at work like a fool.
