Thanks to Netflix Instant, I can't put off Supernatural any longer

For years now, every time somebody says to me, "Do you watch Supernatural? I bet you'd LOOOVE Supernatural!" I always have to do that awkward song and dance and say, "Nah, I don't watch it. I'd watch it if they ever put it on Instant Watch." Well, time to eat my foot, because that time is now!

A real life AK-47 to slay zombies with, and get drunk

Gun company DoubleStar whipped up this specially modified AK-47 for some good old zombie slaying. It comes complete with chainsaw, special scopes and a bottle opener for that zombie slayer that could use a beer mid fight.

Blood Splatter: A Guide to Cinematic Zombie Violence, Gore and Special Effects

Author Craig Chenery has released a new reference guide to zombie flicks with a special eye on their special effects and gore! With this sub-genre going super nova over the last few years, I'm positive Craig covers at least a few zombie flicks you haven't heard yet!

From the cover blurb:

Brian Keene is coming to your small screen with "Ghoul"

I'm sure that any of our readers that are a fan of a good book from time to time are familiar with prolific author Brian Keene. He made his mark with some solid zombie novels and then branched out to monsters and more. Outside of a short film based on one of his stories called "The Ties that Bind", he hasn't had any of his properties turned into a full fledged movie as of yet. With his book "Ghoul" however that's all about to change!

Hammer classics slated for Blu-Ray restoration, lost material dredged up

Since the studio has come back to life in 2007, Hammer Studios have been hard at work putting out some quality content. High quality flicks such as "Let Me In" and the upcoming "The Woman in Black" help to prove that they mean business with their return to the big screen. With this news story over on the BBC this morning, Hammer is now planning to impress us even more with plans to restore thirty of their past horror classics for Blu-ray release!

"Seed" by Ania Ahlborn, a hidden gem of a horror novel

Every now and then, I stumble across a book in the most unlikely of ways. If you're a listener of the Bloody Good Horror podcast, you've probably heard us mention that we mess about on TheChive while recording. It's a photo blog if you're not familiar, filled with everything from goofy pictures to cool HD stuff and everywhere in between. On one such day while browsing through a post, I saw the cover posted there to the left (I think, it's all fuzzy now) and the word 'horror' and it caught my attention.
