"House of the Devil" Red Band Trailer

The only things I caught in this red-band trailer for "House of the Devil" that weren't in the first trailer we saw some months ago are all the good press quotes, but it's worth seeing this stuff again. This movie looks awesome, a real throwback (in the best sense) to the supernatural horror that was the genre staple in the 60s and 70s until slashers took over. I know where I'll be on Halloween!

A major disappointment

This movie was terrible. It's slow and plodding with almost nothing happening for the majority of it and then a rushed and sloppy final act. I just don't understand how this film is getting good reviews.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I've only seen the trailer, and that's got me eager to see it. Maybe I'll try a matinee. Has anyone else seen it that wants to share an opinion here?

Is definitely a good way to go. I saw it at the Tribeca Film Festival this year and it kind of killed my interest in going to the festival since I've only ever managed to see one good horror film there (The Cottage).

I think Ti West is a talented director, and yet I haven't liked a single one of his films. He seems to suffer from the same problem as a lot of new writer/directors, in that he has a very sure hand when it comes to directing but is very weak in the writing department.
