No show this week...

Hey guys, unfortunately we had some technical difficulties this weekend so the "Basket Case" show is postponed a week. That gives you a few more days to check it out before we get our go at it.
In the wake of the cancellation, we've made a calender planning shows out for the next 3 months, so this should eliminate confusion and relying on Netflix for the future. So hopefully we should have a few solid months ahead of us without any interruptions.
Also, I know there have been lots of complaints about Itunes not showing that our new shows are up. That's a result of Podomatic, the service we use to syndicate. If you are thinking of starting a podcast, DO NOT USE PODOMATIC. The site is a piece of crap and the service isn't worth the money.
That said, we were paid for a year in advance so I want to make sure to get my full year out of them. Come November, we will be moving to greener pastures. Until then, just make sure to check back to the site for new episodes, and use the direct download links if Itunes is giving you problems. Hell, you should be visiting the site every day anyways!
So keep it real guys, and we'll see you next week with a steaming fresh new episode.

That, 'you should visit be visiting the site everyday anyways' wasn't aimed at me was it? Whatevs, school starts for me next week as well, so probably won't have much spare time anyway. Drunken Zombie also said that they hate podomatic, but a few months ago! Your behind guys....

It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, I just like to remind you guys :)
Drunken Zombie and BGH started their podcasts at almost the same time, and we both used Podomatic because at the time NOTLP was using it. Right after I signed up I met the NOTLP gang for the first time, and Freddy told me about how they were leaving and all the problems he had with it.
Right around the time DZ left Podomatic, we were trying to get it set up so we would syndicate straight from our own server, but the technical end turned out to be too daunting. So we're basically going to wait it out. Unless of course someone wants to donate money for the new server space ;)
And we will be letting you guys know a few weeks in advance what we're doing, however I don't feel comfortable releasing the whole schedule... for reasons I can't really divulge on the site.

I was looking forward to some BGH ear lovin' today but it seems you have a headache. :P
But thats ok, I'll try to see the first Basket Case since I don't think I've ever seen it (and if I did I just don't remember it). Until next week ^_^

Baskey Case
Wife and I watched this last night, I haven't seen it in a long long time and holy mother of god haha. Not sure how many versions of the DVD are floating around but the one we rented had a couple of the weirdest DVD extras I've ever seen.
1. A 10 minute promo for "BEVERLY BONNER'S LAUGH TRACK" a public access show the was around here in NYC for a while. Yeah it's a lot worse then you are even imagining.
2. Was this weird doc with the director and some random white rapper going around to some of the old places they filmed. Highlights include the rapper guy yelling at a guy over an apartment intercom because they won't let them in the building. And a visit to a now closed S & M club here in the city that was the filming site for the Father Death scene.

You won't believe this, but I'm actually listening to that white rapper guy right now!
I was so intrigued by the bizarre extras that I did some research to find out who the guy was. He just seemed so out of place and random. Downloaded his album and it's actually pretty sweet.
There will be much more info that I have on the show. So tune in!

I forget his name ow but last night I did go to his myspace page and listen. I was actually surprised that he wasn't awful.
R.A. the Rugged Man!
I was intrigued enough to do a little googling to find out who it is you guys are talking about. I loved R.A. about 10 years ago when he was a big part of the new Rawkus Records/indie hip-hop scene. He was one of those guys who popped up for guest appearances on everybody's album. He fell off my radar a few years ago, but according to wikipedia he's written three screenplays with Henenlotter and wrote and produced Henenlotter's newest film Bad Biology (with a score by Prince Paul!). Rarely have my two main forms of geekdom crossed streams like this.
And as a testament to R.A.'s mic skills, I didn't even realize he was white until today. If you want to hear some of his classic stuff look on youtube for the song he did with Notorious B.I.G. I would post it here, but it might be a little offensive even for a site like this. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I mght try and track down the original myself, I only have the third which was given to me by the owner of a rental place when I went to hire it as apparently I was the first person in years to rent it. I now know why!!

Yeah we just loved PODOMATIC
Yeah we just loved PODOMATIC at first but then problems started popping up as one month we got charged three times for our month of service. We got it back in free months but then for some reason if you were subscribed to our show through iTunes it would only download half the episode. And just all sorts of other issues with them. And when we started up our blog type of site we had a ton of storage space and bandwidth so we opted to just host the show ourself. We're still going to be using PodoMatic for our video stuff but hope to phase that out completely in the future. Bastards.
