Absolution for a Templar (video NSFW)

So it seems as if the ol' Knights Templar were not heinous devil worshipping bastards afterall. Those crusading guardians of the grail may have only had it in for Muslims and other communities opposed to the forced Christian colonization of Jerusalem.
In case you missed it, a researcher at the Vatican archives discovered a mislaid transcript from the Templars trial infront of Pope Clement in 1308. The newly found record would seem to exonerate the order of the charges leveled at them by King Philip IV of France in 1307; charges which resulted in their leaders being burned at the stake. Though the templars were cleared of heresy the pope still saw fit to dissolve the order in an effort to mollify France.
Oh well, I guess we can all rest a little easier knowing that they were a murderous Christian militia and not homicidal agents of Old Scratch...
Still,it is a little more fun to think of them this way...

Templars...
My understanding is that the only reason the charges were brought against them is because they had become so rich and powerful that the Vatican felt threatened. Hence the trumped up charges and seizure of all their assets.
As a result of this discovery, there are descendants of the Templars that have filed a lawsuit against the Vatican asking for reparations for the wealth that was taken from them. Good luck with that!
