WWE teams with Freddie Prinze Jr
Submitted by Casey on Wed, 07/30/2008 - 13:42.
Per this report at G4.com:
"In a move that can only be described as downright strange, the WWE has hired actor Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Scooby-Doo, I Know What You Did Last Summer) as a new member of its creative team."
Granted we all have a bizarre infatuation with WWE and professional wrestling, this news report speaks loads to Mr. Gellar's acting career! With such stellar rolls as "Freddy" from "Scooby-Do", how can one not be surprised that he's moving on to writing heel and star story lines for the WWE!
With any luck, my dream of seeing Freddie Prinze Jr. choke-slammed from the top of a steel cage will come true within the year!

Where's Mark?
I'm really surprised Mark hasn't chimed in on this yet, so I'll fill in for him... WTF?
This is going to sound
This is going to sound really strange, but I honestly don't mind. He's been a "celebrity blogger" on the WWE site for a while now, and he seems to actually be a legitimate fan, which is more than I can say for most of the WWE writing team these days. Now that I have cable, this shit is on!
Rumors are running rampant
Rumors are running rampant with this that WWE is trying to get Sarah Michelle Gellar to do an angle on TV for them. She won't do any more Buffy stuff but this is at least in the rumor phase? Come on.

I've just pretty much
I've just pretty much conceded the point on celebs in wrestling. I watch WWE and TNA for wackiness, and ROH for insane technical wrestling and hardcore wrestling. I think if were to ever give up hope on WWE I would have done it 8 years ago.
fine by me
I think Prinze writing for the WWE is kinda neat. Hell, I'd love that job. I will be appalled if for some reason Sarah Michelle (we're on a first name basis) pops up on Raw. She can barely embrace her Buffy heritage... That's my hang up though. Good for Freddie!
WWE needs something new
I gave up on the WWE about 6-7 months ago (I only watch TNA & RoH now), the storylines are terrible, why would you do an incest angle in wrestling? And the talent on the roster is getting worse. So a fresh face in creative is definately a good thing. As for Gellar, why not let her do a David Arquette and be womens champions for a bit, she cant be any worse then the current WWE 'Divas'

Prinze
Yah, I just hate Freddie Prinze Jr. :)
He's what I like to call a "No Talent Ass Clown"
Honestly, as long as they
Honestly, as long as they continue to let Santino do his thing, I don't care what the hell they do with creative haha. Telling Steve Austin that he was going to "opehn up a can of asswhup" was classic.
ECW
I haven't been a consistent fan for over a decade probably.
That said, Mark and I did go to a Hooters to watch the original ECW revival PPV a few years back. That shit was amazing, and I really thought they were going to continue along that vein when they brought the show back to Scifi. Unfortunately they just mucked it up like everything else, and turned it into something just as bland and mediocre as the rest of their shows.
ECW
Alot of people where under the misconception that ECW was to return intact. But Vince's plan was just to use the name and treat ECW just another show. The new ECW may as well be called Heat as that what it basically is. One Night Stand was cool though.
