Repo: A Genetic Opera Clip, more confused than ever

I'm generally pretty intrigued by Darren Lynn Bousman's "Repo: A Genetic Opera", his musical horror tale of a future where human organ re-possessors wreak havoc on the drug addicted masses. Any guy that can cast Bill Moseley and Paris Hilton in the same film certainly has my attention.

For Lions Gate's part, they seem very conflicted on the film (probably due to the change in leadership over there, as we've discussed on the show) and it's looking increasingly likely that it will go severely limited and then straight to DVD shelves.

That said, I'm not sure if this clip helps or hurts their cause. While watching it, I kept going back and forth from really loving what I was hearing, to being taken aback by the strong current of douche chills. It's somehow made me love and hate this movie even more than I already did/didn't. Thoughts?

Ya' know I must be the only person who is a fan of horror and who enjoys the occasional weird musical NOT excited about this movie. I don't know what it is but I just feel nothing for this movie. I could care less if I see it in the theater or not. But I do think it stinks that it's going to get shafted by Lionsgate much like 'Meat Train'. Despite not being interested in it i do think it deserves a chance to be released in the theaters :-/

I just don't know. There's some stuff that I genuinely like but Paris Hilton is awful. The only thing she can do is look slutty and talk in a whispy voice that sounds like she wants to be banged.

That said, there are actually moments where I was digging on the writing. I'm just not sure how an entire film like this is going to play out.

For some reason, I cannot fucking wait for this movie. In spite of all the reports I've read that it's an absolute disaster with good intentions, I just can't seem to abate my excitement for a rock opera with Anthony Head and Ogre.

Even if it's terrible at least someone's trying something new and original. I can really get behind a movie like that.

I agree that it's pretty original and for that alone, I'll give it a chance.

I'm just starting to really see concrete clips though, and I'm just not sure it's going to turn out that well.

if there's a limited release I will be there... most likely alone.

There is so many reason why this could be great. That's the longest clip I've seen thus far. I'm worried that it might actually end up kind of stupid. Plus Bousman is quick cut king and I haaaaaaaaaaaaaate that. Guess we shall wait and see. Anthony Stewart Head is the man though.
