The latest theatrical trailer for the first person POV "Quarantine"
The theatrical trailer for "Quarantine" is haunting me. It keeps popping up as if to mock me. In my never ending quest to hate on all remakes without question (and be cynical in general), I MUST have negative feelings for this remake of "[REC]". There's also that whole first person zombie debacle that shall remain nameless. It may have soured me forever! Here's my "Quarantine" problem, I can't find a valid reason to hate it! Yeah sure, it may very well suck. There's a good possibility it will pale in comparison to its Spanish counterpart. But this trailer further solidifies my need to see it. I am a sucker for first person POV flicks. Oh and I love Jennifer Carpenter because she's Dexter's sister. I might actually have to eat my hat and like this film...
Teaser trailer below. Here is the latest 2 minute one.

hmmmm
I thought I already saw cloverfield?
no?
was i mistaken?
maybe this takes place while the monster is taking a nap.
destroying n.y.c is a tiring job.
although i will go see it for the lovely jennifer carpenter.
huzzah for dexter!
[REC]
Still want to see the original, [REC]. I'll be there though cause much like Sadie above, I like Jennifer Carpenter & Dexter too
Still not excited
The trailer that I've seen for [REC] looked pretty damn scary, this trailer on the other hand doesn't do all that much for me. Every time I've seen it in the theater the audience around me has started laughing, which isn't a good sign for it's box office performance. I do love Carpenter though, she was great in "The Exorcism of Emily Rose".
Well, if everyone else is
Well, if everyone else is like me, they are sick of the tattered-clothes psuedo zombies that end up in every "outbreak" type flick in the past 4 years.
I have hope
I'm hoping that maybe this will focus more on the people trapped inside the building and less on the "zombies" (that are sure to be messy amalgamations of other incarnations of the zombie). I love the psychological aspect of groups of people in peril. It makes for some yummy character development. I know it would never happen, but they coulda just released "[REC]" in the US.
It seems to be a shot for
It seems to be a shot for shot remake of the original, in fact the first trailer is most an exact copy of the original's trailer, and the original was pretty barebones plotwise. So I don't think there will be that much focus on the characters.
"I like it when they lie still like that."
No dice. The primary
No dice. The primary motivation for rushing it into production after REC hit festivals was because the studio didn't think the mainstream would watch a movie with subtitles (which is probably true).
No reason to see Quarrantine if you've already seen [REC] and you should have. All the cool kids are doing it. It's just a shot for shot remake.
