"Rotkappchen: The Blood of Red Riding Hood" Trailer
It’s always cool to see a small independent film that doesn’t look like it was made in someone's house over a long weekend. It’s even cooler to see a movie like that featuring a bunch of German hookers being taunted by a giant wolf in the middle of the woods. In this case the film we’re talking about is “Rotkäppchen: The Blood of Red Riding Hood”, a new film by Harry Sparks that is loosely based on the children's fairy tale.
The story follows Rose, a precocious German 17 year old, as her mother brings her from Germany to live with her grandmother in America. Although she is happy to see her grandmother, Rose hates her new life: she misses her friends back in Germany and she is teased and ridiculed by the other students at school. Rose can only find comfort in her tattered book of fairy tales until she meets and develops a crush on Nick, the most popular guy at school, and is befriended by Summer, a beautiful sexy coed. But things become complicated as Rose is tormented by Nick's girlfriend Bridgette, and the once quiet town finds itself rattled by a series of gruesome, mysterious murders.
Alright so maybe they aren't hookers but still the film has me interested. The trailer has a very Tim Burton/Danny Elfman feel to it. Take a look below and let us know what you think. “Rotkäppchen: The Blood of Red Riding Hood” will be hitting the DVD selves this Halloween.
