Retro Trailer: "Popcorn" (1991)

I'm pretty sure the most memorable thing about 1991's "Popcorn" is the awesome video cover. It's because of that VHS video cover that I've always had a soft spot for this movie. Maggie (Jill Schoelen) is a college student who plans an all night horror movie marathon at a local theatre with her film club. As luck would have it, there is also a pyscho killer on the loose. Although the movie tends to drag in spots, it's enjoyable to watch the movie marathon take shape into a tribute to the B-movies of the 50's and 60's complete with props, 3D, buzzers planted in the seats and odorama type gimmicks. "Popcorn" is available on Netflix Instant Watch and worth a look.
