It's My Party and I'll Die if I Want To (REVIEW)

On any normal day, Sarah's a happy little horror nerd, but today she's a bit down. You see, it's her birthday and nobody remembered. What's a sad girl to do on a Friday night when nobody remembered to invite her out for a birthday celebration? Go home and do some karate of course. Fear not though, her friends didn't truly forget. No no, they decided to throw her a surprise Halloween party! The problem is, they decided to hold the party in the Burkitt Manor, the former home of an 1800's steel baron who snapped and mutilated his family.

The Death of Blu-Ray BD+ Protection

It was announced today that "Slysoft" (www.slysoft.com) has broken the "BD+" copy protection on Blu-Ray discs. The move is especially significant because of previous inflated claims to BD+'s unhackability. Richard Doherty of the Envisioneering Group made a now infamous statement just last year claiming that it would take upward of "10 years" to crack the copy protection.

The Comics Code and the Death of EC

Anyone who has dabbled in comics likely has at least a passing familiarity with the Comics Code. The Code, which went into effect in 1954, was established by the Comics Code Authority, which was handled under the auspices of the Comics Magazine Association of America. This organization was charged with overseeing the comics industry to ensure that the vileness that had pervaded comics wouldn't continue to destroy America's youth.

Books: Old Man's War - John Scalzi

Ah, hard sci-fi. As a long time purveyor, I've read a lot of it. This addiction started way back in the day when I stumbled upon a book called 'The Moon is a Harsh Mistress' by Robert Heinlein.

From that point on, you could say it was an addiction.

I poured every Heinline book I could find. Sure, it wasn't Hemingway, but by good it was all a good fun filled story, some of it even scary, some of it making the blood begin to boil towards revolution.
